Christmas time is here!

As I write this post, it is almost midnight, and the bells are ringing wildly outside, a pre-announcement that Christmas is finally here. This year we find ourselves in a different country, another apartment, and far away from family and friends and much familiarity. And yet there is beauty all around us, new experiences to be had in a far-away place, lights hanging over the streets instead of on the homes, and new friends to share the joy of Christmas with.

We are grateful that Skype and Facetime exist and that we could talk to our families today. We are thankful for a much simpler, but equally enjoyable Christmas this year. (We already gave gifts as it's tradition in both of our families to open presents on Christmas Eve!) We are looking forward to having friends over to share with us in our Christmas lunch tomorrow. More to come!

Our shelf-elf Otto presides over the gifting station. And yes, he's about the same size as our tree.

Our cozy little living space with our little tree and some presents. A perfect Spanish Christmas celebration!
